Dale County Voad is a group of volunteers that formed in Dale County to assist the community in their time of needs.
Dale County Voad offers assistance to stranded motorist, local emergency services and directing traffic on scenes when there is not enough personnel available.
Dale County Voad members assists the Dale County EMA when bad weather occurs. We monitor all dale county roads for damages and debris; including-fallen trees, down power lines, and flooding. When these incidents occur, our members are equipped with chainsaws to remove fallen trees from the county roadway. If power lines are down we contact the proper power company and assist in securing the scene until they arrive; if they are short-handed we will also assist in traffic direction.
This eases the strain that can be placed upon them so they can focus on their work.
Our duties expand beyond just directing traffic and clearing roadways. We have ground and water search and rescue capabilities; including- anyone that might be lost or find themselves in trouble within waterways.
Our goals are to assist the local law enforcements and volunteer fire fighters. Instead of being called out to cut trees from roadways; they will now be able to focus on primary duties. We feel that the local fire fighters need to be fresh and ready to respond to fires and other important emergency calls. This lessens the burdens, thus increases the chance of a faster response time.
Dale County Voad is here to serve our community, by reducing stress for our local public servants we make the community a much safer place when bad conditions arise. We extend our help to the Dale County Sheriff Department, Local Police Department, Dale County EMA Office, and Pea River Electric; and most importantly we serve “YOU".
